Did the Bahrain Grand Prix 2025 Use Champagne on the Podium?

The Bahrain Grand Prix 2025 took place last weekend at the Bahrain International Circuit, with McLaren's Oscar Piastri winning the race.

On the podium, the Piastri, his teammate Lando Norris, and George Russell did not spray each other with champagne on the podium as is tradition after every race.

The organizers of the circuit came up with a specially-brewed fruit drink, which is made from locally produced pomegranate, local rosewater, and carbonated water, which is called Al Waard.

The fruit drink is mixed in Bahrain and sent for bottling to South Africa. Al Waard is used because the alcohol is not widely promoted to avoid causing offence.

The F1 drivers like the fruit drink, according to media reports.
