Historic strides! Bahrain’s Dalia Al Sadiqi has just etched her name in the record books, becoming the first Bahraini woman to complete the Tokyo Marathon—one of the world’s most prestigious races and part of the Abbott World Marathon Majors series!

What Makes the Tokyo Marathon a Big Deal?

The Tokyo Marathon is one of only seven races that hold the World Marathon Major title, alongside the Boston, London, Berlin, Chicago, New York City, and newly added Sydney Marathons. Completing all six original races earns runners the prestigious Six Star Medal and a spot in the Abbott World Marathon Majors Hall of Fame—a dream Dalia is determined to achieve!

The Bahraini runner has already checked off Berlin 2024 and Tokyo 2025, with her sights now set on the London Marathon in April 2025.
