The cybersecurity giant Crowdstrike shared that the outage resulted from a corrupted update that Crowstrike pushed out to its customers.

The cybersecurity firm's CEO George Kurtz ensured the outage had not resulted from a malicious cyberattack. He said, "This is not a security incident or cyberattack.”

Engineers from Crowdstrike have been working to fix the problem. The issue only affected Windows, not other operating systems.
